Donald Freeman

Donald Freeman, US Army, 3rd Brigade, 1st Infantry. Don served as a communications specialist, transported munitions to troops and was part of the reactionary force from 1965 to 1966. He was at Thunder Road.

He shared with his daughter Dawn Rhodes, (Port Clinton),  that during his time there, the men lived in foxholes, tents or just slept on the ground. Dawn states, “He went through so much there and the memories are very hard. Though he has overcome most of it, there are still lasting effects from his service.”

Don now resides in Florida.

We salute you for your service Don!
